Verification time is highly dependent on some CPU optimizations. I have beefy workstation here that takes under 2 seconds to validate it. My modern laptop takes about 4 seconds.
Given the specs Emzy gave for his servers, i would be very surprised if validation took over a handful of seconds for him. Where did you get the tens of seconds figure from?
